two business men building business relationships with phone systems reliable

Building a great reputation with your customers is an important part of running a successful business. One of the best ways to do this is to build a trusting relationship with them. But how do you build a trusting relationship, you may ask. We say, you can build a trusting relationship by being dependable. And what kind of provider would we be if we did not offer phone systems that were reliable?

As you may or may not know, we specialize in hosted phone systems. And because of this, we can consider ourselves experts on the topic. So, we would like to share some of our knowledge on phone system reliability here with you today.

Hosted Phone Systems: The Basics

Before we get into why hosted phone systems are reliable, let’s dive into what a hosted phone system actually is. A hosted phone system is when phone service is provided through the internet. Some people call this cloud-based phone service, hosted PBX, or VoIP (voice over internet protocol).

However, they all mean the same thing; your phone service will be provided to you through the internet. This has many benefits to it. Because of the nature of the service, you will notice lower phone bills, increased features and functions, and an increase in the reliability of your phone service.

Are Hosted Phone Systems Reliable?

While the costs, features, and functions of a hosted PBX are important, and a great selling point, we are here to discuss hosted phone systems’ reliability. And, in short, a hosted phone system is much more reliable than a traditional phone service. This is accomplished in a few different ways.  The first we will discuss is the idea of geo-redundancy, the next will be internet and phone lines, and finally, we will discuss the mobility of hosted phone systems.

Geo-redundancy

Geo-redundancy is when a phone service provider hosts data on several different servers. These servers are placed strategically throughout the country, or even the world, to increase the amount of ‘uptime’ provided to the client. This means that if one server goes down, another server will pick up the slack, making sure you still have service even in the roughest of weather.

Traditional Phone Lines

We’re not sure if you are aware, but phone lines have been around since the 1800s. And, while there have been many improvements to the lines and infrastructure, the basic idea has not evolved much. A coaxial copper wire is used to transfer data from one point to another.

While traditional phone service was limited to this basic wiring infrastructure that is susceptible to all sorts of interference, a hosted phone system can be delivered via more stable and trustworthy infrastructures.

Mobility

We want you to know that your phone systems are reliable. In fact, our phone system is so reliable that you can use it anywhere that has a stable internet connection. This is possible through our desktop and mobile applications installed on your hosted phone on a laptop, tablet, or (most likely) a mobile phone. (This is often called softphone capabilities.)

Softphone capabilities give you and your employees access to your phone system in a power outage, in and out of the building, or even during inclement weather. Being there for your customers when they need you the most will help you build better business relationships.
